FAQ
What to expect during the consultation
The initial consultation is a 75-90 minute session during which we will discuss your personal health history, family history, symptoms, any medications, current diet patterns, work-life balance, physical activity, and any other relevant factors. The nutritional therapy process itself is highly collaborative and fluid, and designed to fit into the client’s lifestyle, the goals are negotiated and agreed upon together and are frequently revised, based on the client’s progress and preferences.
While most clients prefer online sessions, I may also be able to arrange face-to-face consultations in the HA5 Greater London area (Ruislip) on request.
Is it always necessary to undertake additional testing?
Tests are not always required. At times, I may write a referral letter to your GP to facilitate testing through the public health system. In other cases, I might recommend specific tests available privately through third-party providers, without an obligation of course. Additional testing can often provide valuable insights into the root cause of your symptoms and help clarify the path forward. The interpretation of any tests conducted is included in the program.
Working together
There is a common misconception that nutritionists only work on helping resolve weight loss issues. However, there are many conditions and symptoms that can be addressed through Nutritional Therapy, including food allergies and intolerances, bloating, hormone balance, improving skin quality, improving overall metabolic health, vitality, sleep, mood, low energy, stress management, health optimisation, weight loss and balance.
For those already on or looking to adapt a plant-based diet, we can work together on optimisation and ensuring the inclusion of specific foods or nutrients which confer health benefits, potential nutrient deficiencies associated with plant-based diets and implementation of nutritional strategies that can be employed to prevent any such deficiencies.
Can I book the consultation without having the initial 15-minute introductory call?
Yes, but I encourage you to take advantage of the free consultation to ensure we are a good fit. If I determine that another practitioner would be better suited to address your needs, I may refer you to a qualified colleague who specializes in the relevant area.
Supplements
Nutritional therapy prioritizes using food first to meet your needs. However, when it is difficult to achieve certain nutrient levels through diet alone, or in case of certain deficiencies, I may recommend a supplement for a brief period. We will discuss the supplement you may already be taking, their quality and possible contraindications. We will always consider the available options together to find the best solution.
